Modaes: Brambas, barefoot footwear designed to go beyond the child
Barefoot shoes are designed to allow the feet to move naturally, offering a sensation similar to walking barefoot. Their thin, flexible sole allows for better adaptation to the ground, whilst their wide toe box provides freedom of movement for the toes. Despite their benefits, this type of footwear has struggled to gain a foothold in the adult market due to its appearance, which is seen as prioritising functionality over design.
In early 2023, Marta Almodóvar and Óscar Velasco decided to launch Brambas, a brand of barefoot shoes for adults that addresses the main drawback of this type of footwear: as well as being comfortable, they are stylish.
